These words link opposing ideas, but the forms following them and the punctuation are different.

In sentences using although, even though, in spite of and despite, the clauses can change position.

Clause 1*		Clause 2*
Although Even though	he is intelligent,	he can't get a job.
In spite of Despite	his intelligence, being intelligent,	he can't get a job.

*Clauses 1 and 2 can change position.
