Cambridge B2 First – Exam Practice
Practice Test
The Cambridge B2 First computer-based exam contains exactly the same content and has the same format as the paper-based version. Using the Net Languages B2 First Practice Tests provides essential practice for both versions of this exam.
Reading and Use of English
There are seven parts to this paper, with a total of 52 questions, which count as 40% of the total marks. Each part contains a different text. In the exam you have 1 hour 15 minutes to complete this paper.
Writing
There are two parts to this paper,
which count as 20% of the total marks. You have to write two compositions: a compulsory one, and another
one where you have a choice from three titles. In the exam you have
1 hour 20 minutes in total. When you have finished your two compositions,
send them to your tutor, who will mark them for you.
Listening
There are four parts and 30 questions in total, which count as 20% of the total marks. In each part you will listen to a recording and answer comprehension questions. In the exam this part lasts about 40 minutes.
Speaking
In the exam there are four
parts to this paper, which count as 20% of the total marks. It takes place in the presence of two examiners
and another candidate. You speak to one of the examiners in parts
1 and 2, and to the other candidate in parts 3 and 4. It lasts 14
minutes. In these practice tests, this paper is conducted over the
phone, and you will speak only with the examiner. You will need
to look at the pictures that are shown in this part of the exam.
