Imperatives

We use imperatives to give instructions, advice or encouragement. To make an imperative we use the base form of the verb (infinitive without to).

• Cook the eggs for three minutes.
• Look before you cross the street.
• Don't leave your empty cups on the desk.
• Don't worry, be happy.
