1. The -ing form.

Use a preposition and the verb in brackets to complete the sentences. (Remember to put the verb in the correct form.)
For example:
Jim is interested (learn) ________ Chinese.

7. Preposition + -ing form.
Complete the second sentence so that it means the same as the first sentence.
For example:
Turn off the lights, and then lock the door.
Before locking the door, turn off the lights.Select the file, and then open it.
After selecting the file, open it.
8. The -ing form in compound nouns.
A pool that you swim in is a swimming pool.
(swimming = like an adjective)

10. Verb + -ing form.
The -ing form is often used when one verb follows another verb.
He enjoys shopping in the evenings.
She admits spending a long time in the store.
