We can use -ing
  forms as the subject of a sentence.
  -  	Using less
    hot water means lower carbon dioxide emissions. 
- 	Washing dishes
    is boring. 
- 	Not remembering people's names annoys me.
    
-ing forms can also be used as the object or complement
  in a sentence.
  - 	I like cooking.	(object)
- 	My hobby is collecting stamps.	(complement)
