before doing a BSc in computer science at City University.

During the course we studied a bit of everything: 
relational databases, Web animation, Web graphics ...

um, ... PHP, Visual Basic, Java and C++, and we got a bit of experience with Unix.

The degree is definitely an excellent grounding in current systems and tools.
