Defining relative clauses give extra information about a noun.

Who, whose and that define people.

• This is the person who/that wrote to me and whose brother lives next door.

Which and that define things and places.

• This is the house which/that Jack built.

Where means "in which" and defines places.

• This is the house where I was born.
