Transcript for "Are You Sitting Comfortably"

(D = Doctor / P = Patient)

D: Good morning.
P: Good morning, doctor.
D: Now, what can I do for you?
P: Well, I don’t feel very well. I feel tired, and my legs and back ache. I’ve also got a bit of a temperature.
D: How long have you felt like this?
P: For about a week now.
D: Right. Have you been taking any medicine?
P: No, I thought I'd come and see you first. Do you think I might have the flu?
D: Maybe. Let me ask you a few questions about your lifestyle. What do you do?
P: I’m a shop assistant. I work in a sports shop.
D: And do you enjoy your work?
P: It’s OK. Actually, I’ve been working a lot of extra hours recently. You know, doing overtime.
D: Do you do regular exercise?
P: I try to go swimming once a week. But it’s been difficult recently.
D: OK. Well, you might have the flu, but I think perhaps you’ve been working a bit hard.
P: What do you think I should do?
D: Try to find some time to relax. Go to bed early a few nights this week. I’ll give you a prescription for something that will help you sleep.
P: Thanks.
D: And if the symptoms persist, come back and see me in a week. OK?
P: Right, thanks very much.
D: Not at all. See you.
P: Bye.
