The cinema and you.

1. Answer the following questions:

Is there a cinema near you?
How often do you go to the cinema?
Who do you go with?
What kind of films do you like?
What’s the last film you saw?

For example:

I live in a big city, Athens, with lots of cinemas. There is one not very far from my house, so I can get there on foot. I don’t go very often, maybe once a month. I usually go with my girlfriend and sometimes with a group of friends. I never go alone. I like thrillers and horror movies the best. The last thing I saw was a Japanese horror film, I can’t remember the name, but it was really creepy

Or:

The cinemas are all in the city centre, and I live quite far from the centre. So I never go, because transport is very expensive. I usually watch films on my laptop, sometimes alone or sometimes with my sister. I watch things on YouTube or Netflix. I like thrillers and horror movies the best. The last thing I saw was a Japanese horror film, it was called “Ringu”. It’s old, it was made in 1998 but it is really scary. They made a remake of it in the USA in 2002.

Do you go to the cinema very often? Is the cinema a popular pastime where you live or do people prefer to watch TV or movies on the Internet? Write a post telling other students about cinema-going habits where you live.

I saw the American remake of “Ringu”. It’s called “The Ring”. It’s good, but I think the original is scarier!
Who directed “Ringu”?
