Alternative 1 – A picture story
Look at the pictures and write the story of what happened. You can begin like this:

Two weeks ago Anne Simpson bought a lottery ticket.

Six pictures of a picture story. Picture 1 shows a woman, Anne, buying a lottery ticket.  Picture 2 shows the woman, Anne, putting the lottery ticking between the pages of a red book. Picture 3 shows Anne's husband carrying a box of old books. The red book is in the box with a lot of other books. He is taking the books to a secondhand bookshop. Picture 4 shows a young man, Tom, in the secondhand bookshop. He is looking at a red book. Picture 5 shows Tom finding a lottery ticket in the book. Picture 6 shows Tom holding up a winning lottery ticket. He is with his friends. Everybody is smiling.
