Kevin Arbuckle takes photos, but he doesnt take them with a camera. He simply takes them  wherever he finds them.
He takes photos has two meanings:
 1. An idiomatic meaning: He photographs things.
        2. A literal meaning: He acquires photographs
        (e.g., by picking them up in the street).
