We start our tour at Edinburgh Castle. The castle opens at 9:30,
and we stay here for one hour. Please return to the entrance at 10:30.
After the castle, we'll walk down the famous Royal Mile – it's full
of historic monuments and famous houses. Our first stop on the Royal
Mile will be Parliament Square, where the Scottish Parliament used
to meet. We'll continue walking down the Royal Mile to Holyrood Palace,
home to kings and queens for hundreds of years. It costs £5.
We'll have lunch at 12:30, so please return to the entrance of Holyrood
Palace at 12:30. We'll have lunch in Holyrood Park. You can see all
of Edinburgh from there. We have half an hour for lunch, so at 1:00
we'll continue. In the afternoon we'll go to the Royal Museum of Scotland
on Chambers Street. It's free. We leave the museum at 2:30, and then
we go to Grassmarket. This is a beautiful part of the Old Town of
Edinburgh, and you are free to explore it and to have a drink in one
of the cafés there. For the last part of the tour we'll go
back past the castle and over to the New Town – to Princes Street
to do some shopping. Most of the shops close at 6:00, so we'll meet
at the end of Princes Street at North Bridge. That's near the train
