The reading test consists of three passages of text. The texts are suitable for undergraduate or postgraduate students but are of general interest. Texts may be from journals, books, websites, magazines or newspapers.

There are two or three tasks related to the first passage, three tasks for the second, and three tasks for the third.

Each section of the reading paper includes one or more of the task types listed in the following table. You can find examples of each of these task types throughout this reading module.

* In some of these examples of the matching task type, the number of answer options is the same as the number of questions. However, in the exam, there may be extra answer options that you do not need to use.
