Reported commands

Requests, instructions and commands are reported with verbs like tell, ask, warn, remind, invite, persuade and encourage.

The sentence pattern is usually like this:

Subject	+ reporting verb	+ indirect object	(+ not)	+ infinitive
I	told asked warned reminded persuaded invited encouraged	him	(not)	to go.
