Deadly entertaining

And now for all The Walking Dead fanatics out there who have privately fantasised about original ways of outsmarting the zombies, here is your chance to really get into the show and test your survival skills. The BBC has commissioned a thrilling new reality show where contestants have to survive a zombie attack. The new programme, I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse, will show eight unlucky contestants trapped in a shopping centre surrounded by the walking dead. Sound familiar? How are you going to get out of that one? Well, one way is via the backdoor, that's to say, if you get bitten by a zombie you leave the show in the worst possible way. I'll leave that up to your imagination. The show has been billed as a huge event for viewers, be they living or undead, and it promises to be a deadly twist on the zombie genre. The show will be made by Tiger Aspect, the company that brought us Bad Education and Peaky Blinders. However, there are no details as yet on when it will be shown. One member of the production team has said about the show that "it's nice to finally have a game show where if you get a challenge wrong, you get your arms ripped off and your brains eaten out," which makes one think that the show will not be to everyone's taste. Perhaps the main attraction will be the creative ways that contestants rise to the challenge of survival, staying cool and making the right decisions in this very special kind of urban survival scenario. According to a BBC spokesperson for the show, "People will die to part of it." Are you feeling brave and resourceful? I think I'll sit this one out.
