Adjectives

Word order

When adjectives come before a noun, they usually have to go in a particular word order, like this:

Opinion	Sizeageshape	Colour	Nationality	Material	Noun
(a) nice	old straight	black	Egyptian	cotton	scarf
(an) ugly					man
lovely					hair

• I bought a black cotton scarf.
  NOT: I bought a cotton black scarf.
